In which of the existing cultural institutions in Havana is there the following sentence at the entrance: "Keep a light on that I will always return ..."?

The cultural institution where the phrase "Keep a light on that I will always return ..." is reflected in the Oswaldo Guayasamín House Museum.

This institution, whose inauguration took place in 1992, is related to the life and work of the prominent Latin American plastic artist who was a great friend of Cuba and an admirer of the Revolution and its leader Fidel Castro.

The institution is based in a building located in the urban historical center of the Cuban capital. The restoration of the important building, restored its splendor to the mansion erected in the eighteenth century, belonging to the Peñalver family.
In the process of restoration of the old house, mural paintings were found, whose archaeological wealth constitutes a treasure of Cuban colonial architecture. This house-museum has three permanent exhibition halls. They exhibit personal objects of the remarkable Latin American creator and original works donated to the Cuban nation. In the spaces of the prestigious institution you can also see pieces of Latin American popular art and objects dating from the nineteenth century.

Oswaldo Guayasamin born of an Indian father and mestizo mother, after a difficult childhood, in 1932 he entered the School of Fine Arts in Quito in which he graduated in the specialties of painting and sculpture.

He became one of the most recognized figures in the artistic scene of his country and internationally.

He made some 180 individual exhibitions and his production was very fruitful in easel paintings, murals, sculptures and monuments. He exhibited in museums of almost all the capitals of America, and of many countries in Europe. Until his death he worked on his work called "The Chapel of Man" which, like other creations of his, has a great humanist sense and a denunciation of the injustice and violence that marked the 20th century.

He visited Cuba on several occasions and even created a house in Havana that today forms part of the important cultural institutions located in Old Havana.
