It is one of the faculties of the University of Havana that includes the careers of Journalism, Social Communication and Computer Science. This institution favors the development of information and communication as strategic resources to meet the demands of the professional and social environment, and to contribute to the advancement of the country. In later years, first the School of Journalism and then the Faculty of Journalism of the University of Havana were created, which in the 1990s expanded its profile to the areas of Social Communication and Computer Sciences.

Fe del Valle

Fe del Valle was born in August 1917 in Remedios, the former province of Las Villas. She moved to the capital city when she was young looking for a job to support herself. She could start to work at El Encanto after working in other places .Since 1959 on she began to take part in revolutionary activities and joined the militias and the mass organizations.

Federation of Cuban Women

It is an important mass organization that groups and represents Cuban women. Created on August 23, 1960, its president was Vilma Espín. The organization develops policies and programs aimed at achieving women's full and equal rights at all levels of society. Among its objectives is to provide systematic attention to the formation and welfare of the new generations.
