The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, October 19, 2 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,111,265 positives.

40 remain hospitalized and 25 suspects.

To date, 8,530 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 2 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating 1,102,661 (99.2%) recovered patients. 15 active cases were confirmed, all with stable clinical evolution. There are no patients in intensive care.

The 2 confirmed cases were from the Havana municipalities of Arroyo Naranjo and Marianao.

For COVID-19, 1,368 samples were studied, resulting in 2 positives. The country accumulates 14,178,565 samples carried out and 1,111,265 positives.

The 2 identified were contacts of confirmed cases, and female.

No asymptomatic case was reported on the day, accumulating a total of 147,510, which represents 13.3%.

The 2 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 1; from 20 to 39, 1; from 40 to 59, 0: and from 60 and over 0 case.

Until this October 19, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.04% of the world, and 1.59% of the Americas.
