The effectiveness of Cuban vaccines has been proven. The symptoms of those who get sick after been vaccinated are less and less aggressive as well as the number of those infected who move to a serious or critical condition is decreasing. However, at least in Havana, the number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19, including those immunized with Abdala, has started to grow, which, according to the Secretary of the Central Committee, denotes an irresponsible behavior of the population.

In evaluating the issue in the session corresponding to this Friday July 23, the Temporary Working Group for the confrontation of Covid-19 in the capital, it is important that those who have already been immunized do not lower their guard and comply with the sanitary prevention protocols, in the first place so as not to become infected and do not propitiate the infestation of the rest of the cohabitants, among whom may be pregnant women and children who have not yet been immunized.

Information on the epidemiological status in the territory revealed that 11 752 samples were processed the previous day, of wich1367 were positive, representing 36.7%. Sadly, six deaths due to the disease were reported.

Of the total of confirmed cases, 973 people were vaccinated, for a 97.7 %, including 31 with the first dose, 397 with the second dose and 545 with the last dose. The remaining 397 have not yet been vaccinated, in the last 15 days the incidence rate in the capital has increased 5041.4%per 100 thousand inhabitants (5038+).

Reinaldo García Zapata informed that we could not maintain the confrontation only on the basis of the results(suspected and confirmed), the moment demands that the specialists investigate the reasons for unusual rise of the contagions, the high speed of transmission as well as others parameters that allow to work on the causes.

Dr. Rolando Yero Travieso, Emilio Delgado Iznaga and Yadira Olivera Nodarse, member of the Political Bureau and Directors of Health and the Provincial Center of Hygiene ,Epidemiology and Microbiology of Havana, respectively, agreed that the fact that the capital is more advanced in the immunization of its population, as well as the features of the territory merits and investigation that takes into account all these elements and, on the basis of the result, to propose new management that is more adjusted to the local reality for suspects, infected and contacts. Whether they are vaccinated or not.  

At the meeting, it was ratified that the capital should complete its vaccination in general sense, by the end of July and the beginning of August. The intervention with the third dose in the last five municipalities were scheme has not yet been completed is proceeding according to plan. The health authorities ratified that the vaccination of pregnant women will begin on July 29, but it will no longer centralized, as had been foreseen. As from tomorrow, the regulated sale of four highly demanded products (chicken, detergent and oil) will begin in four municipalities of the capital, which are offered in the TRD and CIMEX chain stores. Where possible, sales will be linked to warehouse and other eligible commercial facilities.

I also informed that on July 29, the sale of seven pounds of rice per capita of the basic food basket, corresponding to August and the rest of the other in case they are available will be brought forward. Three additional pounds of rice will be sold during the month. In general, all products for the month are guaranteed.

It is also planned to guarantee the free sale of 8000lt of soy yoghurt and milk every Sunday. Representative of Hydraulic Resources and Aguas de la Habana informed that a shutdown of Cuenca Azul supply source is scheduled for tomorrow. The manager of both units assured that they will work hard to solve the problem in the shortest possible time.
