It is a Spanish city and municipality belonging to the community of Madrid. Originally the territory was a farming and grazing area. During the Spanish Civil War in the years of the thirties in the twentieth century was the scene of heavy fighting. The origin of the town of Majadahonda dates back to a small village of shepherds and farmers. From this origin comes its name, Majada-honda: a shepherds' sheepfold located in a hollow.
It is one of the oldest towns in the Municipality of Arroyo Naranjo, belonging to Havana. It is said that its name was given by the native aborigines who lived there. Its origin was apparently due to the natural characteristics of the land and its great variety, in addition to the existence of abundant springs and natural streams. The settlement of this extensive area was around the year 1730, which is the time that Managua appears as a neighborhood on the basis of an agricultural hacienda from the seventeenth century and its subsequent settlement in isolation.
Named after a marine mammal (manatee), the Manatí municipality is located in the northwest of the eastern province of Las Tunas, with an area of 954.3 square kilometers. Only 7 of them are in the urban area, therefore it is an eminently rural municipality. Its fundamental economic activity is agriculture.

Mantua is the head town of the similar name of Pinar del Río Province.
