The noble Havana
Why, madam?
the air, the challenge,
sturdy leg and bootie
and pigeon chest?
Why, conqueror,
on the rare cliffs
of unequal angles
you rise, disdaining
down the dark pit of waters?
Castle of the Force,
giraldilla,
your grace and victory.
Is that why the success
of the profound grace of size,
turned and short, warped
as pitcher, host?
what do you know lady
of the Great Key,
leaning on your own openness
to the open gulfs?
Will the open be your secret,
noble Havana, Lady,
your brief corpulence,
so funny,
That's why it will have that bird profile
-the foot well settled-
and that light air
braggart?
