From Havana 6 of the 31 new positives to Covid-19 in Cuba

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, May 28, 31 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 105 thousand 258.

One thousand 277 remain hospitalized; 1,049 suspects, and 32 under surveillance.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 31 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 96 thousand 474 (99.2%) recovered patients. 196 active cases were confirmed, of which 192 with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 6 cases were identified, of them four autochthonous and two imported. Cases were reported in six of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

• Orange Creek – 1

• Eastern Havana – 1

• Smooth – 1

• Marianao– 1

• Beach – 1

• Revolution Square – 1

For COVID-19, 5,972 samples were studied, resulting in 31 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 857 thousand 121 samples carried out and one million 105 thousand 258 positives.

Of those confirmed, 26 were contacts of confirmed cases, 2 with a source of infection abroad, and 3 with an unspecified source.

Of the feminine sex 17, and of the masculine 14. In the intensive therapies they remain 4 patients reported of serious.

9.7% (3) of the 31 positives were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 146,959, which represents 13.3%.

The 31 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 12; from 20 to 39, 6; from 40 to 59 years old 4, and from 60 and over, 9 cases.

Until this May 28, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.19% of the world, and 1.74% of the Americas.
