China makes a donation to Cuba

 

A donation of 100,000 dollars from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Cuba was delivered this Friday to the Cuban government.

Granma specifies that the donation is to contribute to the repair of part of the damage caused after the unfortunate accident at the Saratoga hotel, and for the fight against COVID-19 in our country.

Ma Hui, Chinese ambassador to the island, at the ceremony expressed his regret for the loss of human life as a consequence of the Saratoga disaster, on May 6, and expressed his admiration for the men and women involved in the rescue efforts. .

The diplomat also meant that the bilateral ties are consolidated with the permanent exercise of solidarity, an expression of the existing bonds of friendship between both peoples.

Déborah Rivas Saavedra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, on behalf of the Cuban authorities expressed gratitude for this donation and highlighted its value given the complex economic situation facing the country.

The Vice Minister also recalled that since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Asian giant has sent more than one hundred tons of humanitarian aid.
