1895. Juan Gualberto Gómez got the order of attack that Jose Marti and other compatriots had signed in the United States.  
Juan Gualberto was an outstanding collaborator of Jose Marti in his determination of restarting the war for the independence of Cuba.
When talking about Juan Gualberto, his qualities and patriotism Marti assured: “He loves Cuba with that love of life and death, and that heroic wit which the one who loves her must feel in these hard days”.

2005. The Cultural Center Dulce María Loynaz is opened.
It is located in the streets 19 and E, in Vedado, in the house that once belonged to the writer and is the main institutional space for creation and promotion of authors that the Instituto Cubano del Libro includes.
At the same time the center is a referent of the cultural life of Havana related to literature. It has a library and an Internet hall for writers, researchers and academics.
