Throughout her life she was one of the most eminent figures in the fields of archeology, anthropology, history, teaching and research in our country. He was also a combatant in the underground, a militant of the Communist Party of Cuba and received numerous awards and medals for his revolutionary trajectory and his scientific work, among them, the Carlos J. Finlay Order. He belonged to the Association of Latin American and Caribbean Historians and the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba. He was an Honorary Member of the Permanent Tribunal of History for the defense of scientific degrees and of the Committee of Scientists for Peace of the Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of the Peoples. She was also Member of Merit of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba and of the Economic Society Friends of the Country, as well as Professor of Merit of the Enrique José Varona Higher Pedagogical Institute. She passed away on June 18, 2008.
