He was born on September 29th, 1911 in the village of San Antonio de los Baños, then the province of Havana. Since very young he supported the ideas of the people, workers and students and took part in several demonstrations against Machado dictatorship, when Rafael Trejo was murdered and in other occasions.  He was part of the general strike in 1933 which overthrew    Gerardo Machado dictatorship. Then he was a representative of the Chamber of Representatives. The highest decoration given by the Transport workers Union takes his name.

He was born on September 9th, 1910 in the village San Antonio de los Baños. He was a leader of the students who took part in several activities in favor of the freedom of his people. He was murdered on September 30th, 1930 when the police forces of the dictator Gerardo Machado suppressed a university student’s demonstration in Havana.
