Teresita Fernández passes away.

She was born on December 20, 1930 in the city of Santa Clara. Graduated as a teacher and Doctor in Pedagogy, she was a troubadour, guitarist and composer.  Her compositions bring together the sonorities of old ballads and peasant folklore. It was the Martí Sisters who facilitated her debut. Later she began to perform with Ignacio Villa, Bola de Nieve, at the Monseigneur restaurant in the Vedado area. Then he began to have his own space in La Rampa, in the small Club Coctel. He founded the Peña de los Juglares in Lenin Park where he shared with prestigious personalities of national and international culture. He musicalized the poems of José Martí's book Ismaelillo, Gabriela Mistral's rondas and created dozens of children's songs. She received numerous awards for her artistic career, among others, the Distinction for National Culture.

Martí Sisters

It was a Cuban musical duo formed by sisters Berta and Amelia Martí. Throughout their existence they maintained a continuous artistic work through radio, television, as well as in concerts in many places of the Cuban territory. In their work they left memorable recordings, very representative those composed by the musician Manuel Corona.

Gabriela Mistral

Gabriela Mistral, pseudonym of Lucila Godoy Alcayaga was a Chilean poet, diplomat, teacher and pedagogue. She was born on April 7, 1889. For her poetic work, she received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1945. She was the first Latin American woman and the second Latin American person to receive a Nobel Prize. She died on January 10, 1957.
