He studied medicine at the University of Havana. During his studies he was a student intern at the Havana Cancer Institute.  After graduation he held the positions of intern, surgeon - urologist and chief of administration at that institution. He was a full member of the National Society of Surgery and President of the Cuban Society of Urology. His scientific work has been recognized inside and outside the country. He was born on February 7, 1913 in the town of Cruces, in the then province of Las Villas.

National Society of Surgery

On January 27, 1929, the first Cuban organization grouping surgeons was created with the purpose of exchanging ideas, knowledge and experiences.

Cuban Society of Urology

It was founded in 1940 by Dr. Luis F. Rodríguez Molina. At the beginning, it grouped a number of urological surgeons graduated from the University of Havana who practiced Urology in Cuba. After the triumph of the Revolution, the few neurologists who did not leave the country marked a new stage in the development of this association and the specialty.
