Her artistic debut took place on May 13, 1927 at the Actualidades movie theater. In the artistic world she was known as Candita Quintana. She worked in radio, television and cabarets. On television she participated in numerous humorous programs, such as Casos y cosas de casa and La Comedia del domingo. She received several awards and decorations, among others, the "Raúl Gómez García" Order.

She was described as a legend of Cuban theater who marked an era with her sympathy, ingenuity, talent and natural grace. Particularly memorable were her performances in multiple plays of the so-called "bufo" genre at the Martí Theater in Havana. Together with her inseparable friend and stage companion Alicia Rico, she entered the radio, in a humorous program and at the same time continued to make successful presentations in different Cuban theaters in different cities of Cuba. She also continued to participate in the filming of movies and later in humorous television programming. In 1940 she participated in the filming of the movie, Manuel García or El Rey de los Campos de Cuba.  Candita Quintana died on September 5, 1977 in the Cuban capital.

Raúl Gómez García Order

It is the highest decoration conferred by the National Union of Culture. The distinction recognizes those who have devoted part of their lives to culture.Raúl Gómez García was a poet and legendary revolutionary fighter who participated in the assault on the Moncada Barracks. He created the poem (We are already in combat) and also responding to Fidel Castro Ruz's indications, he elaborated a manifesto that was to be made public to the people after the occupation of the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba.
