Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, October 25th, stated that, 1210 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 946 960.

To date, 8191 deaths by coronavirus (9 belong to the day) have been reported, and 5761 active cases of which 5621 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 1171(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 932 951(98.6%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 17 174 patients remain in hospital admission, 9593 suspicious and 1820 under medical surveillance.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed,82 belong to the capital, 79 of them native and 3 imported. It was reported a casualty in the municipality of Cotorro.

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased placing the capital in thirtieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros (10), Habana del Este(9),Diez de Octubre(8), Cerro and La Lisa(7), Arroyo Naranjo, Centro Habana and Playa(6),  Guanabacoa(5), Plaza de la Revolución(4), San Miguel del Padrón and Habana Vieja(3), Marianao and Cotorro(2), Regla (1).

24 780 tests were studied for Covid- 19, 1210 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 10 385 213 analyzed samples of which 946 960 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,1199 people were contacts of confirmed cases,9 with source of infection from abroad and 2 with unknown source of infection.

There were 1201 native cases this Tuesday and 9 imported of which 647 female and 563 male cases.

140 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 49 critical and 91 seriously ill. 

This Tuesday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to 13.2%(160), for a total of 130 492, which represents a 13.8% of the confirmed cases to the date.

Of the 1210 confirmed cases, 204 were under 20 years of age; 265 between 20 and 39; 411 between 40 and 59 and 310, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in October 25th  , 2021 is 0.87% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.03% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
