Luis Casas Romero dies.

He was a composer and band director, who also created the first Cuban radio station, 2LC, when on August 22, 1922 he began experimental broadcasts. Born in Camagüey on May 24, 1882, he attended the Pious Schools. He began his musical studies there at the age of nine. At the age of twelve he played flute in the orchestra of the Santa Cecilia Popular Society. In 1913 he joined the Army of the Republic as a flautist in the General Staff Band. Later he was appointed director, a position he held until his death.
