She was the female voice that identified the Radio Rebelde radio station that began its systematic transmissions in the Sierra Maestra, in the camp where Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara, who was the main promoter of the creation of this radio station, was staying. After the triumph of the Revolution, he occupied different responsibilities related to artistic and historical activities. She also served for some time as General Director of Radio Rebelde. For her contribution as a revolutionary combatant, for her dedication to the development of the Revolution and for her artistic work, she received several awards and decorations, among others, the Distinction for National Culture.
