Adolfo del Castillo dies in an unequal combat at the Farm La Chorrera in El Calvario.

He was one of the most fearsome pro independent leaders by the Spanish troops, because of his braveness. He was first granted the rank of Commander and then that of Brigadier. He took part in the occupation of some towns in the province of Havana. There is a modest monument in a small park with his name in the current Guanabacoa, a place where he lived when he was young. There is an obelisk in the place where he exactly died

El Calvario

It is currently the Consejo Popular of the municipality Arroyo Naranjo. It is located on a hill in a rural area in the Southeast of Havana. It limits with Mantilla to the north, with Managua to the south, with San Miguel to the east and with Parraga and La Guinera to the west. It has a heterogeneous population. It has four suburbs : Calvario, El Retiro, Averoff, Fraternidad.
