Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, October 14th, stated that, 2138 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 930 822.

To date,8018 deaths by coronavirus (24 belong to the day) have been reported, and 10 277 active cases of which 9990 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 3428(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 912 470(98%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 27 743 patients remain in hospital admission, 15 992 suspicious and 1474 under medical surveillance.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 138 belong to the capital, 136 natives of them native and 2 imported. We regret 3 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital, in the municipalities of Boyeros, Habana del Este and San Miguel del Padrón.

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased placing the capital in thirtieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros (18), Diez de Octubre (17), Habana del Este (13), Playa (8), Arroyo Naranjo and La Lisa (10), Plaza de la Revolución, Guanabacoa, Marianao, Centro Habana and Cerro (9), Habana Vieja (6), San Miguel del Padrón (5),   Cotorro (3) and Regla (3).

32 360 tests were studied for Covid- 19, 2138 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 10 111 292 analyzed samples of which 930 822 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,2118 people were contacts of confirmed cases 17 with source of infection from abroad and 3 with unknown source of infection.

There were 2121 native cases this Thursday and 17 were imported of which 1143 female and 995 male cases.

287 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 84 critical and 203 seriously ill. 

This Thursday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to 60.1%(130), for a total of 129 035, which represents a 13.9% of the confirmed cases to the date.

Of the 2138 confirmed cases, 410 were under 20 years of age; 491 between 20 and 39; 730 between 40 and 59 and 507, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in October 14th, 2021 is 0.86% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.04% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
