She started in the artistic world as a tango singer, which helped her to make her debut in the theater, during the forties. She acted in several play sof different kinds together with other outstanding actors as Candita Quintana, Alicia Rico, Enrique Arredondo and Carlos Pous. She was very active and had a powerful voice, a huge energy and a unique grace until the last days of her life. She was notable for her honesty and professionalism. Because of having morality authority and experiences she transmitted important knowledge to her colleagues and to the people in general. She was much admired in her times.

Candita Quintana

She was born on November 2nd, 1912 in Havana. She was an extraordinary  Cuban actress. She was considered a legend of the Cuban theater from the artistic point of view. She marked an epoch with her sympathy, ingenuousness, talent and natural grace. Her presentations in several comedies at Theater  Marti, in Havana were unforgettable. She dies on September 5th, 1977 in the Cuban capital city. 

Alicia Rico

She was born in Pinar del Rio in 1886 and her parents came to Havana a year after. She was one of the most interesting figures of the Cuban vernacular theater. She performed different characters such as: maids, guajiras (Cuban word used to name women from the country side), mulatas (mixed race), fools, and refined or not, black women. She performed in the country and went on tours in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Tampa and New York, in United States. She died in Havana on December 29th, 1966 few hours after her last performance.

  Enrique Arredondo

He was born on April 2nd, 1906. He was a prestigious Cuban actor. He was of outstanding in the field of humor, as well as in theater, movie, radio, and television.  He played very popular characters, in the cuban audience; Cheo Malanga, Bernabé and doctor Chappotín were among them. He also performed in United States, Puerto Rico and México. In Mexico, he was hired to perform in a musical, together with other prestigious comedy actors like Tin Tan. He died in Havana on November 15th, 1988.

Carlos Pous

He was born in the city of Cienfuegos in 1914. Passion for arts came to him from his uncle Arquímedes Pous, who was a play director and an actor. He was a star of the Cuban Comic Theater. He was the best in performing the character   the black boy. He also performed on the radio, on television and in movies.
