• At 1:15 PM on October 8, 1967, two Ranger companies of 145 men each, and a squad of 37 soldiers from the Bolivian army surrounded the Quebrada del Yuro area.
• Inside the Quebrada there were 17 guerrillas: eight Bolivians, seven Cubans, two Peruvians and a Cuban-Argentine, the chief. His subordinates named him Fernando; the world knew him as Che Guevara.
• Che orders to occupy the positions and establishes the meeting point. He still believes in victory.
• The internationalist guerrillas are at a great disadvantage because they are in a place of sparse vegetation and they are fenced off.
• In combat, Che is wounded and his weapon is rendered useless. In these circumstances he is captured.
• They transfer him to the little school in La Higuera, one of his two classrooms will be his temporary cell. The floor is made of earth, the walls of adobe and the roof of thatch.
• Several officers come to question him; does not speak. On October 9, the order to eliminate the prisoner arrived encrypted from Washington.
• A soldier offers to do it. They order him to shoot him under the neck to simulate his death in combat.
• He would later narrate that the guerrilla told him: «'Be calm and aim well! He's going to kill a man! ' Then I took a step back, towards the threshold of the door, closed my eyes and fired the first burst.
• It was ten past one in the afternoon. He had killed a man and was unknowingly participating in the birth of a myth. Che began his march towards immortality.
