María Elena Molinet de la Peña dies in Havana.

She was born on September 30, 1919 in Holguín. She stood out for her work as a costume designer, teacher and researcher. She graduated from the Interamerican Academy of Commercial Drawing. She also studied painting and engraving at the San Alejandro School of Plastic Arts in Havana. In her artistic career she was founder and member of the National Council of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba. She was a member of the Council of Experts of the Directorate of Theater and Dance of the Ministry of Culture. She was also dedicated to organizing design groups, as well as advising, researching and publishing various works and teaching. He gave lectures at various events such as International Design Meetings, V Centenary of the African presence in America, Conference on Heritage and Tourism, Scientific Meeting of Historians and Scholars of Design, words and comments on exhibitions of Scenic Design.
