Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, October 4th, stated that, 4793 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 900 512(10%).

To date,7663 deaths by coronavirus (45 belong to the day) have been reported, and 22 293 active cases of which 21 967 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 5511(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 870 988(96.5%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 48 818 patients remained in hospital admission, 27 296 suspicious and 2961 under medical surveillance.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 265 belong to the capital, of them 263 are native and 2 imported. We regret 3 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital, in the municipalities of San Miguel del Padrón, Playa and Diez de Octubre (1 death).

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased, placing the capital in fortieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros (28), Diez de Octubre (22), Playa and Arroyo Naranjo (21), Cerro(20),  Habana del Este (19), Plaza de la Revolución (18), Habana Vieja, Marianao, Guanabacoa and Centro Habana (16),La Lisa(15), Cotorro(14), San Miguel del Padrón (13), and Regla (10).

33 290 tests were studied for Covid- 19,4793 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 9 765 273 analyzed samples of which 900 512 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,4761 (99.4%) people were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 888 819; 19(0.4%) with source of infection from abroad for a total of 11 654 and 6 with unknown source of infection.

There were 4774 native cases this Monday and 12 were imported of which 2271 female and 2001 male cases.

This Monday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to a 2.7%(128), for a total of 127 221 which represents 20.0% of the confirmed cases to date.

Of the 4793 confirmed cases, 897 were under 20 years of age; 1053 between 20 and 39; 1529 between 40 and 59 and 1314, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in October 4th, 2021 is 0.85% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.04% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
