Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, September 11th, stated that, 8034 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 745 202(8.6%).

To date, 6299 deaths by coronavirus (80 belong to the day) have been reported, and 39 248 active cases of which 38 809 (98.9%) with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 7558 (belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 699 598(93.9%) medical or epidemiological discharges. There are 127 critical patients and 312 in critical status.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 622 belong to the capital, of them 616 are native and 5 imported. We regret 6 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital: Boyeros, La Lisa, Habana Vieja, Arroyo Naranjo, Cotorro and Playa 1 death each.

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, an incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants of 492.0% has been reported, placing the capital in fortieth position in the country. 

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Diez de Octubre (77), Centro Habana and Arroyo Naranjo (58), Habana del Este (57), Boyeros (55),La Lisa, Cerro and Marianao (42), Playa(41), Guanabacoa (38), Plaza de la Revolución(33), San Miguel del Padrón (26),  Cotorro(22),  Habana Vieja and Regla,15.

56 514 test were studied for Covid- 19, with a result of 8034 positive samples whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 8 624 937 analyzed samples of which 7034(8.6%) were positive.

Of the confirmed cases, the 3.4% (273) of the 8006 were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 733 734(98.4%);14(0.2%) with source of infection from abroad for a total of 11 297(1.5%) and 14(0.2%) with unknown source of infection.

There were 8020 native cases this Saturday and 14 were imported of which 4257(53.3%) female and 3759(46.7%) male cases.

This Saturday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to a 3.8 %( 320), for 121 227 which represents 16.6% of the confirmed cases to date. According to this indicator, he pointed out that the trend to the decrease evidences the severity of the clinic chart presented by the new strains, since symptoms appeared from the beginning of the disease.

Of the 8394 confirmed cases, 1835 were under 20 years of age; 1995 between 20 and 39; 2407 between 40 and 59 and 1797, over 60.

The death rate for Covid-19 in Cuba, in September 11th, 2021 is 0.84% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.06% for the world and the 2.48 % for the Americas region.
