Fidel Castro speaks at the opening of the 68th Inter parliamentary Session at the Palacio de Convenciones de La Habana.

He states:”We gather in uncertain times. I do not forget the diverse criteria and ideologies that are here together in this room. But I start from the idea that a common worry about the world, is getting us united, where each of our countries and the people that live in them, have a sacred place in our hearts. I welcome you all to our country.”

He declares that he is expressing his points of view with honesty, from the facts he considers fair, and could not omit the judgment certain governments

and policies deserve.

He added: “When I do it I do not criticize the people but the governments and the ones who do not agree will have enough opportunity to retort my words from this platform, where they will be heard respectfully”.
