José Westbrook (Joe) is born.

When he started the School of Social Sciences and Administration Law at the University of Havana he made contact with lots of revolutionary young people. He took part in the occupation of the Radio station Radio Reloj together with José Antonio Echeverría, while other members of the Directorio Revolucionario were participating in the attack to the Presidential Palace. He was murdered on April 20th, 1957 in Humbolt 7 in Havana, with other revolutionary participants, by the forces of Batista dictatorship that prepared an unexpected attack against the building where they had found refuge.

The building is located in this address in Havana. The police of the dictatorial regime prepared an unexpected attack and murdered the young revolutionaries José Machado Rodríguez, Juan Pedro Carbó Serviá, Fructuoso Rodríguez y Joe Westbrook Rosales on April 20th, 1957.
