Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, September 8th, stated that, 7747 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 720 739.

To date, 6056 deaths by coronavirus (89 belong to the day) have been reported, and 38 035(5.4%) active cases of which 37 608(98.8%) with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 8074 (belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 675 413(93.7%) medical or epidemiological discharges. There are 130 critical patients and 294 in critical status.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 652 belong to the capital, of them 645 are native and 7 imported. We regret 5 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital: Cotorro,Guanabacoa,La Lisa, Plaza de la Revolución Playa(1death each).

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, a decrease in the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has been reported, placing the capital in thirtieth position in the country. 

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Diez de Octubre(67), Boyeros(63), Arroyo Naranjo (62),Habana del Este, Centro Habana and La Lisa(59), Marianao(58), Playa(42), Cerro(39),  Guanabacoa and Habana Vieja (38),  Plaza de la Revolución(35), San Miguel del Padrón (27),  Cotorro(25), and Regla,16.

62 569 test were studied for Covid- 19, with a result of 7747 positive samples whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates8 452 475analyzed samples of which 720 739 were positive.

7684 cases were contacts of confirmed cases; 29 with source of infection abroad, 34 of them have an unknown source of infection.

There were 7718 native cases this Wednesday and 29 were imported of which 4122 female and 3625 male cases.

This Wednesday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to a 6 %( 290), for a total of 120 907 which represents 16.8% of the confirmed cases to date. According to this indicator, he pointed out that the trend to the decrease evidences the severity of the clinic chart presented by the new strains, since symptoms appear from the beginning of the disease.

Of the 7771 confirmed cases, 1751 were under 20 years of age; 2022 between 20 and 39; 2334 between 40 and 59 and 1640, over 60.

The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in September 8th, 2021 is 0.84% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.06% for the world and the 2.48 % for the Americas region.
