Coralia Fernandez dies in Havana.

She was born on August 23rd, 1927 in Regla, a town in Havana. She started taking part in school parties, and activities sponsored by the Liceo de Regla. At the same time she learns the main features to sing punto guajiro ( it is a singing genre of Cuban music). At the age of 14 she sings several songs in a children’s program on the Cuban radio. She was an outstanding one since 1940 till her death. She was Ramon Veloz wife; he was also a singer of Cuban country music. They formed a very well known high quality duet. During Fulgencio Batista dictatorship they sang songs which condemned the poverty the Cuban people was going through. Among those songs we can mention Pobre de mí Cuba by Carlos Puebla.
