She starts her studies at the Conservatory of Havana where she began to study piano. Years later she registered in the Choral School of Havana obtaining a degree in Direction and Choral Singing. Then she travels to Germany where she finishes her higher studies in Choral Direction, Piano and Singing .She got the highest marks in all the specialties there. She has been the director of the  National Choir of Cuba and Associate professor at the Higher Institute of Art. She leads the Project Cantorias which groups hundreds of children in two choirs: a children´s choir and a youth choir.

National Choir of Cuba

It was created in Havana by the pedagogue and director of different choirs Serafín Pro in 1960. It had the aim of spreading the choral music in the country. Digna Guerra Ramirez is appointed the director of the choral group in 1975. The group has a wide variety of works for choral groups from different epochs and styles, mainly devoted to Cuban composers. It also disseminates works from the Latin American catalog. It has also done an important work in the dissemination of the most popular works of the world repertoire and specially the Cuban Choral works from different epochs and styles, from the Polyphony of the 15th Century to the most contemporary ones which include advanced composition technical procedures.
