Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, August 1, stated that, 9279(468-) new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 403 622.

To date, 2913 deaths by coronavirus (68 belong to the day) have been reported, and 43 955(1000+) confirmed cases of which 43 750 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 8211(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 356 698 medical or epidemiological discharges. There are 153 critical patients and 232 in critical status.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 1850(88- ) belong to the capital, 1846 of them are native and 4 imported. We regret 14 casualties by Coronavirus from the municipalities Plaza de la Revolución and Habana del Este (3 each), Lisa and Playa( 2 each municipality); Arroyo Naranjo, Marianao, Habana Vieja y Diez de Octubre(1 each municipality).

Francisco Durán informed that the incidence rate per 100 thousands inhabitants increased to 1017.3%, placing the province in sixth position of the chart. For that reason he called the attention on the strict comply of the protection measures and social isolation because of the still high transmission which is spread in all its territories.

 The most affected municipalities in Habana were La Lisa(224),Diez de Octubre(215), Arroyo Naranjo(202),Boyeros and Playa(170 each), Marianao(160),Centro Habana (139), Cotorro(126), San Miguel del Padrón(113), Habana Vieja(111),Habana del Este(107), Cerro(67),Guanabacoa(45) and Regla,21.

45314 test were studied for Covid 19, with a result of 9279(468- ) positive samples whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 6 609 428 analyzed samples of which 366 985 were positive.

According to this indicator, he pointed out that the trend to the decrease evidences the severity of the clinic chart presented by the new strains, since symptoms appear from the beginning of the disease.

94 800 patients remain hospitalized for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 43 608 suspected cases, 4042 under medical watch. It has been confirmed 43 955(11.5%) active cases of which 43 570 with a clinical stable evolution. An amount of 356 698 have been discharged from hospitals, of which 8211 belong to the day.

Of the 9279 confirmed cases, 1612 were under 20 years of age; 2787 between 20 and 39; 3053 between 40 and 59 and 1827, over 60.

The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in July 21, 2021 is 0.72 % per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.13% for the world and the 2.60 % for the Americas region.
