Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, July 28, stated that, 8607 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 366 985.

To date, 2628 deaths by coronavirus (68 belong to the day) have been reported, and 44 059 confirmed cases of which 43 719 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 8073(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 320 242(87.3%) medical or epidemiological discharges. There are 143 critical patients and 197 in critical status.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 1714 belong to the capital, 1712 of them are native and 2 imported. We regret 5 casualties by Coronavirus from the municipalities Playa, (3) Lisa and Plaza de la Revolución(1 each).

Francisco Durán informed that the incidence rate per 100 thousands inhabitants increased to 713.1% (15 245), placing the province in thirtieth position of the chart. For that reason he called the attention on the strict comply of the protection measures and social isolation because of the still high transmission which is spread in all its territories.

 The most affected municipalities in Habana were Diez de Octubre(178),Marianao(177), Lisa(170), Playa(162), Arroyo Naranjo(159), Centro Habana(125),Cerro(122),Habana del Este(103),Habana Vieja(102),Boyeros(101),San Miguel del Padrón(82),Plaza de la Revolución(80), Cotorro(69), Guanabacoa(57) and Regla,25.

53 469 test were studied for Covid 19, with a result of 8607 positive samples whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 6 414 461 analyzed samples of which 366 985 were positive.

Of the 8607 confirmed cases, 1522 were under 20 years of age; 2562 between 20 and 39; 2552 between 40 and 59 and 1571, over 60.

The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in July 21, 2021 is 0.71 % per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.14% for the world and the 2.61 % for the Americas region.
