In his artistic work he was a song composer. He joined Alberto Vera in duet and together they were authors of beautiful compositions of the Cuban songbook. Their numbers were interpreted by numerous Cuban artists in the fifties. In their fusion they created some musical theater plays.  He died on September 6, 1967 in a plane crash in Prague while returning to Cuba.

Alberto Vera

Alberto Vera Morua was an outstanding composer. He was born on December 18, 1929 in Havana. Since his childhood he began to study music, which he abandoned years later when he began a career as a Civil Builder at the School of Arts and Crafts in Havana. It is precisely there where he meets Giraldo Piloto, who besides being a classmate in that teaching is also finishing his violin studies at the Conservatory of Havana. In 1949 they decided to interrelate as an authorial binomial in terms of musical creations. They composed songs that reached a great notoriety both in Cuba and internationally, among them the one entitled Añorado encuentro. Piloto and Vera also ventured into the musical comedy specialty. On September 6, 1967, Gerardo Piloto died in an aviation accident.  Then, for several years, Vera devoted himself mainly to the functions of head of the music area of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television. In the eighties he re-emerged again in the panorama of creation.   He even managed to conceive other works that also turned out to be very popular, among which was one identified as Amigas, as well as Lo que me queda por vivir.  Alberto Vera died in Havana on December 18, 1996 on his 67th birthday.
