Casa Simón Bolívar is officially opened in Havana to honor the 210 birth anniversary of the Liberator of America.This institution promotes the exchange of experiences and supports the cultural promotion in Latin America. The Casa is a mansion of the seventeenth century. It is located in Mercaderes Street between Lamparilla Street and Obrapía Street in Habana Vieja. The Ateneo of Caracas and the Fundación Casa Simón Bolívar in Venezuela sponsored the creation and fitting out of the Casa Simón Bolívar. Several Venezuelan artists donated their works to be exhibited in Casa Simón Bolívar in La Habana.

 It is officially opened in Havana on July 24th, 1993, to honor the 210 birth anniversary of the Liberator of America (Libertador de las Americas). The Casa is a mansion of the seventeenth century. It is located in Mercaderes Street between Lamparilla Street and Obrapía Street in Habana Vieja. Since March 25th, 1991 the project of creating a house to honor Bolivar started to come to fruition. It was when the Box of Memories, having messages exchanged by the presidents of Cuba and Venezuela was placed in the facade of the building. The central piece of this house is the statue of Bolivar made in bronze. The place is used for exhibitions, symposiums and courses related to the great pro- independence fighter.  The place also favors the exchange of experiences and supports the cultural promotion in Latin America.
