Héctor Rodríguez Alamaral dies in Havana.

He was born in the city of Morón.  He started as a sport commentator when he joined the staff of Radio Moro. He starts narrating baseball games with other colleagues of Ciego de Ávila, during 1964 and 1965. He was called by Radio Cadena Agramonte, in Camagüey in 1965. He enrolled on a course for sports narrators in Havana and starts working as a substitute on the national radio and television. He was well known in his work for sports due to a phrase he used to communicate with the listeners and viewers, when he said: “Hello for you all”. Above his work as baseball games narrator he was very famous for his emotional description of Alberto Juantorena´s race on July 25th, 1976 at the Olympic Games in Montreal, Canada.  

Radio Cadena Agramonte

It was founded on June 9th, 1957 in the city of Camagüey. It is the main radio station in the province of Camagüey. It broadcasts information and musical programs as well as dramatization slots. Its aims are to please information needs, educational, cultural and recreational improvement of the people. It is done through varied and participatory programs which reflect the people´s environment from the development of a competitive radio. 

Alberto Juantorena

He is known as the elegant of the track, due to his style when running in national and international competitions He is one of the great figures of the Cuban sport. He was born in Santiago de Cuba on November 21st, 1950. He won two gold medals in 400 and 800 flat meters in the Olympic Games in Montreal, in 1976. He is the only Cuban athlete who has been a double champion in an Olympic Game. He was also successful at world, Pan-American and Central American championships. After his retirement as an athlete in 1985 he has had responsibilities in the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, INDER, as well as in the Cuban Athletics      Federation and has also been a member of the International Olympic Committee.
