Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, July 16, stated that, 6062 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 275 608.

To date, 1843 deaths by coronavirus (52 belong to the day) have been reported, and 43 569 (135+) confirmed cases of which 43 266 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 230 140(83.5%) medical or epidemiological discharges of which 5875 belong to the day. There are 137 critical patients and 166 in critical status.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 763 (78- ) belong to the capital, of them 683(76-) native and 2 imported cases. We regret the 3 casualties by Coronavirus.

Francisco Durán informed this Friday the province experiences an increase in the incidence rate and for that reason he called the attention on the strict comply of the protection measures and social isolation because of the still high transmission which is spread in all its territories.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Habana del este(78),Arroyo Naranjo(74), Diez de Octubre(67), Lisa(58),Plaza de la Revolución(56), Boyeros (55),Playa(51),Marianao(40), Habana Vieja (39), Cerro(27),Guanabacoa(22), Cotorro(16) and Regla, 14.

47 466 test were studied for Covid 19, with a result of 6460 positive samples. 19 981 of the samples were studied with a PCR and 27 485 with antigen. The country accumulates 5 812 725 analyzed samples of which 275 608 were positive.
