From this designation he created and organized the Office of the Historian of the City in 1936. He also took care of the organization of the Havana History Notebooks, clear, simple and free distribution works on diverse historical topics that were appearing uninterruptedly until 1962. He was a member of the National Board of Archeology and Ethnology, the National College of Journalists, the Commission of Monuments, Buildings, Historical and Artistic Havana Places, the Havana Bar Association and other institutions. He was the author of more than one hundred books and pamphlets on the history of Cuba. Several of them are related to aspects related to Havana.

National Board of Archeology and Ethnology

On September 17, 1937 the Archaeology Commission celebrated its Constitution Meeting. The act took place in the Luis Montané Archaeological Museum of the University of Havana. Archaeologists from the most distant places of the Cuban territory attended this meeting.

National College of Journalists

It was constituted by Presidential Decree-Law No. 3382 of May 16, 1942. Its statutes were promulgated on November 16, 1943. It was known by its acronym CNP.
