Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, July 4, stated that, 3075 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 207 322.

To date, 1372 deaths by coronavirus (21 belong to the day) have been reported, and 19113 confirmed cases of which 18 902(98.9%) with a stable clinical evolution, a total of 186 902(90.1%) medical or epidemiological discharges of which 3261 belongs to the day. There are 80 critical patients and 131 in critical status.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 485(52-), belong to the capital, of them 447(42-) native and 8(10- ) imported cases. The biggest amount of PCR tests done (20, 2%) belong to the capital with a positivity of6.2% placing it at eleventh position of the chart.

Francisco Duran confirmed 6 deaths by coronavirus in the capital for a 26.8% in the incidence rate by 100 000 inhabitants showing a decreasing progressive trend but, stated, it remains high transmission rate and it is spread along all the municipalities. Due to de the decreasing trend of cases, the capital stands at tenth position of the provinces in the country. The biggest figure of active events 51, of the 150 reported, are from the capital.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Arroyo Naranjo(63),Marianao (51), Boyeros (50), Centro Habana(46),Playa(41), Diez de Octubre(38),Lisa(37), Habana del este(34),Cerro(29),Plaza de la Revolución(23), San Miguel del Padrón(21),  Habana Vieja(16), Cotorro y Guanabacoa(13 each)and Regla(10).

38 826 test were studied for Covid 19, with a result of 3 075 positive samples (44- ). Accumulating 5 296 762 analyzed samples of which 207 322 (3.9%) were positive.

Of the amount of confirmed cases, 2953(95.1%) were contact of confirmed positive cases for a total of 197 260(95.1%). There were 76 imported cases (2.5%) for a total of 9174(4.6%). There were 76 cases (2%) with unknown infection source.

There were 2999 native cases confirmed, of which, 1652(53.1%) female and 1423(46, 3%) male cases.

43 116 patients remain hospitalized for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 14 319 suspicious, 9684 under medical watch and 18 902 (98, 9%) with a clinical stable evolution. An amount of 186 781(90.1%) have been discharged from hospitals.

Of the 3 075 positives cases, 23, 7 % were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 90 530, which represents 43.6% of the confirmed cases.

Of the 3 075 confirmed cases, 650 were under 20 years of age; 957 between 20 and 39; 976 between 40 and 59 and 492 over 60.

The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in July 4, 2021 is 0.66% which is lower than the 2.16% for the world and the 2.62 % for the Americas region.
