It began broadcasting from the rooftop of the building on Prado and Monte Streets in Havana where CMQ used to operate. It is the only Cuban radio station that broadcasts the news and the time every minute, 24 hours a day, completely live. It is also the only one in Cuba that broadcasts at 12:00 noon and 12:00 midnight the time in more than 20 capitals of the world.

 It was first a radio and later also a television station located in Havana. It was founded on March 12, 1933, by Miguel Gabriel and Ángel Cambó, and later, on August 1, 1943, it was acquired in half by the business group of the Mestre Espinosa Brothers. At that time it became a national chain.

Initially it was located on Monte Street, on the corner of Paseo del Prado, but on March 12, 1948 the radio circuit was moved to the Radiocentro building in Vedado.
