Antonio Bachiller y Morales is born in Havana

Descendant of a family of illustrious Mexicans and relative by maternal line of the Marshal of Ayacucho, Antonio José de Sucre, he inherited from his parents the brilliant talent that allowed him to appreciate the urgencies of his time. Thanks to his studies, he was able to develop as a journalist and professor of economics.  In his professional work he exalted the highest values of science and art in Cuba, and advocated for popular education and absolute freedom of commerce. He was considered the Father of Cuban Bibliography.

Antonio José de Sucre

Also known as Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho, he was a Venezuelan politician and military man, hero of the Spanish-American emancipation and main hero of the current Republic of Ecuador, as well as a diplomat and statesman, president of Bolivia, governor of Peru, General in Chief of the Army of Gran Colombia and Commander of the Army of the South.
