The construction of this Garden began in 1968 and it was opened to the public on March 24, 1984, although its official inauguration did not take place until January 4, 1989. This site has about 600 hectares. Around four thousand species are cultivated, identified in more than 145 thousand planted specimens. This is one of the largest gardens in the world and occupies an important place in the list of tropical gardens.
