He was one of the founders of the Teatro Estudio academy directed by brothers Vicente and Raquel Revuelta. In 1960 he joined the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry, known as ICAIC. In 1979 he was among the initiators of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema and directed its first twelve editions. He was also one of the initiators of the International School of Cinema, Television and Video, located near the town of San Antonio de los Baños, in what is now the province of Artemisa.

TEATRO ESTUDIO

Teatro Estudio is an important cultural center that in different stages has been a reflection of Cuban theatrical life and has been a factor in the development of brilliant creators and has become a great training school. It was created in 1958 by eight artists, among them the brothers Raquel and Vicente Revuelta.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF CINEMA, TELEVISION AND VIDEO

 Inaugurated on December 15, 1986 in an area near the picturesque town of San Antonio de los Baños, the International School of Cinema and Television is a very significant center where dozens of students are trained annually in six specialties of the audiovisual sphere.  This center was created within the New Latin American Cinema Foundation. Among the most significant recognitions obtained by this center is the Roselli Prize, awarded at the Cannes Film Festival in 1993. It has also been ranked as one of the four best film schools in the world.
