Born on May 21, 1889 in Havana, he studied at the School of Arts and Crafts, where he graduated in civil construction in 1905. Years later, as an engineer, architect and researcher of mining and geology, he was the author of more than fifty works related to his professional disciplines, especially those related to the possible existence of petroleum in the northern area of Havana and the town of Madruga.

MADRUGA

It is the head town of the municipality of the same name located northeast of the province of Mayabeque, the municipality of Madruga has an area of 463.1 square kilometers. It was created as a municipality in October 1976 when Cuba applied another political-administrative division. Among its most important geographic elements are the Sierras de Camarones de Picadura and El Grillo, which are the highest in the province.
