She was a sculptor and a ceramist. She did an exceptional work related to the preservation of the cultural patrimony of Cuba. Likewise she worked hard for the creation of museums in the country and the preservation of the Cuban historical memory. She once said those were issues which satisfied her. At the moment of her death she was the President of the National Board of Cultural Patrimony of our country. She was declared as Heroine of work of the Republic of Cuba.

BOARD OF CULTURAL PATRIMONY

It is an Institution which is part of the Ministry of Culture of Cuba. It is in charge of specifying and notifying those goods that should be part of the cultural patrimony of the nation. Its main work is the protection, recovery, preservation, restoration, exhibition, research and spreading of the cultural and natural patrimony, as well as the information given by experts on the field.
