Adolfo José Guzmán González is born in Havana.

He was a great composer, pianist and orchestra conductor during his life. He wrote his first musical creation, a waltz called “Marina” when he was 14 years old, in 1934. He had different responsibilities in several institutions after 1959 apart from his musical work. He was appointed president of the Cuban Institute of Musical Rights and a while after he worked for the organization and direction of the Giant Choir of the Workers Union of Cuba.

The Cuban Agency of Music Copyright has the aim of protecting the patrimonial interests of the authors, composers, editors and other owners in the field of music and performing arts.  It is completed through the collection and distribution of the copyrights that are produced due to the national and international exploitation of the works through the authors´ societies which have undersigned mutual     representation contracts. This institution is in charge of the Program for the Musical Creation that is in favor of the protection of the Cuban musical patrimony.
