On the solemn act of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power, held at the Theater of the Higher Institute of Physical Culture "Comandante Manuel Fajardo", the Cerro Municipal Anthem was sung for the first time. It was performed by pioneers from the “Paulita Concepción” Vocational School of Art. A long standingovation by all of the Assembly members welcomed this new municipal symbol. The march is titled "Viejo Cerro".

People’s Power Municipal Assembly

It is the higher local entity of the State power in the territories and is invested with the highest authority for the exercise of state functions in their respective demarcations, as established by the Constitution. In addition, the Assembly contributes to the development of activities and the fulfillment of the plans of the units located in their jurisdiction that are not subordinate to them in bylaw.
