A great scholar, he graduated as a Linguist, Philologist and Pedagogue. He made several contributions to the pedagogical sciences, among which are the founding of the first Laboratory of Experimental Phonetics at the University of Havana, the only one of its kind that existed in those years in Latin America, and the creation in 1919, of the Museum of Classical Archeology. He was the author of numerous works on Philology and Linguistics.

Museum of Classical Archeology

The Archeology Museum is currently located in the Historic Center of the City, in a two-story building dating from 1725,. The Museum is dedicated to the exhibition of Cuban archeology and of other regions of America. It was inaugurated on February 2, 1989. It has permanent and temporary exhibitions to spread and promote knowledge of the archaeological heritage recovered in the national territory between the 16th and 19th century. In general, this museum has a wide collection of relics that are made up of private and institutional donations both Cuban and foreign.
