Fina García Marruz was born in Havana.

His deep love for poetry became evident especially when he had the opportunity to meet and interact with the famous Spanish poet Juan Ramón Jiménez. In relation to his motivations for writing, she once expressed: “I do not write about everything I want, in all of us there are impregnable areas. I write about things that have impressed me and for which I can find music, an accent, to turn into poetry ".

He was born on December 24, 1881 in Spain. He initially wanted to be a painter, but later some Sevillian writers encouraged him to venture into the field of letters. As a writer he was the author among other works of the book Platero y Yo. He passed away in Puerto Rico on May 19, 1958.
