Roberto Faz, prominent star of Cuban popular music died in Havana.

He was born on September 18, 1914 in the “overseas “town of Regla in Havana, and began working in the Cuban musical scene in 1927 when he was 13 years old. He later excelled as a singer and conductor. His voice is preserved in about 400 recordings and in his shows, he projected optimism and humor. His improvisations in the montuno sones and the guarachas were ingenious. He performed for the last time before an audience at a dance held on Guanabo Beach on April 24, 1966.

Guanabo Beach

It is located in the area known as Playas del Este, in the current municipality of Habana del Este. It is located on the north coast of the province of Havana, between the Boca Ciega and Veneciana beaches. It has white sands and coconut palms. The beach season for Cubans begins in June and ends at the beginning of November, although normally this beach is very visited almost all year round, because Cuba is considered an eternal summer due to its weather.
