The Cuban Informatics Union and the Havana Technological Park establish work relations

This agreement consolidates the UIC’s objectives, which are focused on supporting the computerization process, the population’s technological literacy, and the continuous professional development of its members, in order to support the economic and social strategies of our country.

The Cuban Informatics Union (Unión de Informáticos de Cuba – UIC), signed this Thursday, an Understanding Memorandum with the Havana Technological Park (PCT) which consolidates its role as an integration platform between the government, companies, universities, the private sector, and the citizen.

This agreement consolidates the UIC’s objectives, which are focused on supporting the computerization process, the population’s technological literacy, and the continuous professional development of its members to support the economic and social strategy of our country.

Both parts will work from now on, in the identification of research and development projects of critical importance for computerization of our country, or in the exportation of goods and services.

They will also link the UIC’s human resources to the development of I+D+I projects (research, development, and technological innovation) and will manage the accessibility to market and commercial representation of the products resulted from this joint programs.

The document was signed by Ailyn Febles Estrada (Ph.D), President of the UIC; and also by Rafael Luis Torralba (Ms.C), Director of the PCT.

Dr. Febles pointed out that this arrangement is an extension of the work that has been done, mainly with the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), where that park is located.

On the other hand, Rafael Luis Torralba, director of the PCT, mentioned that it is essential to make the information and communication technology the leading force that moves our economy and society.
