Enrique Arredondo is born in Havana

He was part of the generation of popular actors educated trained y sheer talent on the stage. Arredondo was a follower of Arquímedes Pous, his idol, as well as Alicia Rico and Candita Quintana. He turned out to be one of the heirs to the Cuban bufo theater. While improvising, he used very short phrases which, by constant repetition, became part of the Cuban’s regular vocabulary.

A very important Cuban theater genre at the end of the 19th century. It is a theater expression that emerged after a long historical period that gathered all the philosophical, political and cultural elements that gave birth to the national consciousness and to a particular art form, certain rhythm cells, ways of dancing, drama genre and ways of stage performance.
